Equestrian Art

The show of the Royal School of Equestrian Art or the visit to the Yeguada de la Cartuja, are a good opportunity to get to know the world of purebred Spanish horses.

Flamenco

Jerez, the birthplace of flamenco, has many options to see shows and enjoy this art so typical of our land.

History

With a long history dating back to the times of the Phoenicians, Romans and Muslims, Jerez has spectacular corners such as the walls of the old fortress, and inside, the remains of the mosque and the Arab baths.

Gastronomy

Gastronomy is one of the most prominent arguments to visit Jerez, but if you want to know the Jerez culture and experience its atmosphere, the best way is to go to tabancos: typical Jerez taverns, which have their origin in the traditional Jerez wine shop.

You must to go to our typical taverns called “tabancos”: Tabanco El Pasaje with live flamenco, Tabanco San Pablo, Atuvera, Abacería La Cruz Vieja, Las Banderillas, Cruz Blanca, El Almacén , Traziego.

For restaurants, we recommend La Carboná, Hermanos Carrasco, Bar Arturo, entre otros.

Beaches

If you feel like to refresh, you don´t why to go out La Volandere, but if you need a bit of “Sea Vitamin” you dón´t have to drive to much. What´s more, everybody who visit Cadiz should know our wide and White-sand beaches where you feel like at the Paradise.

The closer ones:

  • El Puerto de Santa María: Valdelagrana, Las Redes
  • Cádiz: Cortadura, La Victoria, Santa María del Mar,
  • Rota: Costa Ballena (ideal para días con levante).

Our favorite ones:

Caños de Meca, La Barrosa, Loma del Puerco, Calas de Roche, Cala del Aceite, El Palmar, Bolonia.

Cádiz

At 30 minutes from La Volandera.

30 minutes from La Volandera, Cádiz, the oldest city in Europe, is a unique and peculiar city that leaves no one indifferent.

A city that exudes atmosphere and joy, for its streets full of shops and life, and also history, for its archaeological remains, walls, the Roman theatre, the castles of San Sebastián and Santa Catalina, which frame the beach of La Caleta making it a unique and spectacular corner.

Surrounded by the sea almost completely, Cádiz is a wonderful city to walk around or cycle around. The Alameda Apodaca promenade, the Genovese park, its squares, the Cathedral…

In every corner you can find a good place to eat tapas and its famous “fried fish”.

It has some of the best urban beaches in Spain with fine white sands, where you can enjoy the many beach bars throughout the year.
