The cottage

The cottage was a very abundant type of vernacular architecture throughout the Jerez countryside due to its proximity to the marsh, which used to be very close to the rural lands of Jerez. These cottages generally served as “gañanías”, humble dwellings of the farm laborers around the large farmhouses.

We spent the first week of our holidays at Jerez in this beautiful place : “La Volandera”. Blanca and her family was very welcoming explain everything and showing the place. We received a welcome gift with a traditional Spanish cake. Ideal for lovers of nature and tranquility but with all modern comforts, included WiFi, air conditioning and dishwasher. The locations is near to Jerez, only 4Km and at 1km you can find a good market: Supereco. The best near Playa is “La Barrosa” 30 min. from the apartment. Highly recommended place ! The house is in a wonderful setting just outside the centre which was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the spacious rooms and the terrace. In any case, the accommodation is recommended if you want to explore Jerez but not be in the middle of the hustle and bustle. In half an hour you are also in Cadiz. For us the stay was perfect.

The cottage was clean, everything was there (Blanca had even made a baby cot). A paradise where we spent a wonderful week. The roosters and dogs quickly get used to rural life.
